President John Dramani Mahama has revoked the appointment of Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh as the Director-General of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The decision to revoke the appointment of the reverend minister was communicated in a letter issued and signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama.
No reasons were assigned in the letter for the revocation of the appointment of Rev. Ogbarmey Tetteh.
He has therefore been asked to hand over his responsibilities to Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, who has been appointed as Acting Director-General of the SEC.

During the Eighth Parliament, James Klutse Averdzi served as the chairman of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee.
He was a Member of Parliament for the Ketu North constituency, which is currently represented by Edems Agbana of the National Democratic Congress.
He holds a PhD in International and Political Finance from UNEM in Costa Rica (2015), an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom (2016), a Chartered Institute of Taxation in Ghana (2013), and a CA (Ghana) from 2001.
He also served as a principal accountant, controller, and accountant in the General Department before being elected to Parliament in 2005.
Mr. Averdzi served four terms as the MP for the Ketu North constituency.
Mr. Averdzi, as part of his duties, is expected to help the SEC to regulate, innovate, and promote the growth and development of an efficient, fair, and transparent securities market in which investors and the integrity of the market are protected.
He will, among other things, lead the team at SEC to register, license, authorise, or regulate, in accordance with the Act or the Regulations, the establishment of securities exchanges, commodities and futures exchanges, securities depositories, and clearing and settlement institutions.The rest are credit rating agencies, fund managers, investment advisers, unit trusts, mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, nominees, underwriters, issuing houses, registrars, custodians, trustees, primary dealers, and broker-dealers; the mode of conduct of securities businesses; issues concerning accounts and audits; the establishment of fidelity funds; and trading in securities.
