Parliament’s Appointments Committee has faced widespread criticism for its swift vetting of Greater Accra Regional Minister-designate Linda Ocloo.
The nominee’s vetting process concluded in record time, with no questions posed to her.
Following her oath-taking, Linda Ocloo’s vetting session garnered attention for its unusually brief duration.
The process barely progressed beyond her introductory remarks, as Committee Members declined to pose any questions.
The reason behind the committee’s decision to forgo rigorous vetting remains unclear.
The nominee is a Ghanaian politician and member of the ninth parliament representing the Shai-Osudoku Constituency in the Greater Accra Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.
Ocloo is an economist, banker, and insurer by profession.
She served as a Client Service Consultant at Old Mutual Assurance, formerly Provident Life Insurance.
The lawmaker has worked with institutions such as Standard Chartered Bank as branch secretary, the Electricity Company of Ghana as a personal assistant to the MD, and also with Old Mutual Assurance as a client service consultant.
