Nana Piesie Anto, a socio-political analyst, has criticised Oliver Barker-Vormawor over his inability to provide evidence to support his bribery allegations against the Appointments Committee.
He asserted that the private legal practitioner is gaining notoriety for creating controversies.
According to the analyst, the private legal practitioner is interested in being in the media for the sake of popularity, so he is constantly stirring up situations to garner attention.
Expressing his views on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he noted that Barker-Vormawor does not exercise circumspection.
He was reacting to the turnout of the summons to Barker-Vormawor by the Appointments Committee.
He wondered why the lawyer failed to support his allegations with any evidence.
“Barker-Vormawor has gained notoriety for stirring up controversies. He always wants to be popular. Even if you want to make remarks or make commentary on issues, you have a responsibility to verify the facts and ensure that you don’t peddle falsehoods and/or make unfounded claims. You also have to be circumspect in how you communicate. You should not disrespect or throw out information anyhow without sound judgement.
I strongly believe he is going overboard. He always wants to be heard or be popular. It seems to me he wants to be popular, but the question is, do you want to be popular to be famous or popular to be notorious? I will only stress that you don’t always have to express your views on issues. I will advise him to take a cue from what happened and stay away from these controversies. If you want to be seen as a popular figure, let us view you as such in a positive manner.”
