Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has disclosed that his exposés on various acts of wrongdoing have saved Ghana millions of dollars.
He made the remarks when he appeared before the Vetting Committee today, Friday, January 31, 2025.
The nominee posited that he applied vigilance in his activities, through which he has helped in protecting the public purse.
“My exposés about wrongdoings have saved this country millions of dollars. If we do not remain alert and call out financial irregularities, Ghana will continue to lose vital resources that could be used for development.”
He told the committee that his activities led to the halting of dubious government contracts and the prevention of unnecessary expenditure.
“I do not engage in these exposés for personal gain or political advantage. My focus is on ensuring that the hard-earned resources of this country are used prudently and not squandered through shady deals,” he remarked.
“I will continue to stand for integrity and accountability. Ghana’s foreign service must reflect these values, ensuring that we serve our people and protect the country’s image internationally,” he concluded.
