President John Dramani Mahama has appointed an eight-member committee to organise the National Education Forum in fulfilment of his campaign promise.
The committee is expected to solicit views and ideas that can help reshape the education sector.
The committee formed has been given two weeks to submit its report and plan.
Chairing the committee is former Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Professor George K. T. Oduro.
The members are Professor Goski Alabi, Professor Rosemary Bosu, Samuel Awuku, Ph.D., and Professor Smile Dzisi.
The rest are Kofi Asare, Stephen Owusu, and Inusah Shiraz.
As part of their mandate, they have been tasked with developing a guiding theme, identifying stakeholders across the education sector, and proposing an agenda with time allocations.
The committee is also tasked with selecting a venue and date for the forum, setting up a secretariat, and preparing a budget.
They are to compile a comprehensive report detailing the forum’s findings and recommendations.
The committee, upon conclusion of its work, is expected to release a draft national education policy framework and an action plan for reform implementation.
