The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has strongly told staff of the ministry that their key goal should be to help him in achieving and implementing the objectives of President John Dramani Mahama.
He said one of the major goals is to reset and reform the ministry.
According to him, “We are here because we have the mandate of the people of Ghana. To reset not only Ghana but especially in this place, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources. To focus on reforming the forestry department, making sure we look at the mining sector and address all the concerns that the people of Ghana have shared, and make sure we bring a stop to illegal mining.”.
The minister also reminded the workers of their responsibilities to assist him in dealing with the degradation of our forest reserves, water bodies, and other reserves where illicit mining was taking place.
“Everybody who is working here, his goal must be towards achieving that objective. I told them that this ministry, when you walk in here, you must come with your professional hat determined to help me, the minister, achieve the objectives and the mandate that has been given to President Mahama and his government. If anybody here is not aligned, you would think twice about working here.”
