President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Doli-Wura Awushi Abdul-Malik Seidu Zakaria as the Managing Director of the National Investment Bank.
His appointment is effective January 27, 2025, a statement issued by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to President John Dramani Mahama announced.
Dr. Mahama also expressed congratulations to the appointee saying “Please accept the President’s best wishes’’.
The letter, addressed to the Minister of Finance, directs the necessary steps to be taken to regularise the appointment in accordance with the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 929) and the constitution of the bank.
Chief Dr. Doliwura Zakaria is a renowned scholar and traditional leader in Ghana. He has an extensive and distinguished career spanning multiple fields, including leadership, networking, lobbying, resource mobilisation, public sector financial management, auditing, monitoring, and evaluation.
As a chief in the Kusawgu Traditional Area in the Savannah Region of Ghana, Chief Dr. Doliwura has served his community with dedication. He was the Chief of Staff and Spokesperson for the King of the Gonja Kingdom (Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa-1) from 2010 to 2023.
Dr. Doliwura holds a PhD in Public Policy Administration from Walden University, USA. Additionally, he has a Master’s degree in Economic Policy Management and an MBA in Finance, both from the University of Ghana.
Chief Dr. Doliwura is an expert in Public Financial Management. He served as the Assistant Controller & Accountant General at the Accountant General’s Office and the Director at the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs in Accra.
