The Nsoatre Traditional Council has condemned the unfortunate violent incidents that occurred during the league match between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The Council said the situation that led to the tragic death of one of the supporters of Kumasi Asante Kotoko was, unfortunately, a horrible incident that should never occur again.

The Gyasehene of Nsoatre, Nana Korang Asimpi, described the incident as unfortunate and stated categorically that the Council was totally against hooliganism.

He announced that the Council will support any initiative that will ensure that the individual who stabbed the supporter is arrested and prosecuted.

“We condemn in no uncertain terms that what happened was unfortunate. The Traditional Council is prepared to support the security agencies to fish out the individual who stabbed the supporter. We don’t support what happened and are against it. We are assuring football lovers and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) that we are in support of prosecution of those involved.”

He further stated that they have nothing against Asantehene and the team, Asante Kotoko.

“This unfortunate incident occurred on the stool land of Nsoatre, which we regard as unfortunate because of the good relationship between Nsoatreman and Asanteman, which dates back to 1740. The Nsoatre Traditional Council extends its profound condolences to Otumfuo, the deceased’s family, the widow, and the entire Kumasi Asante Kotoko football fraternity.”
