The Minister in charge of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has written to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice seeking legal advice on several contracts signed under the ministry.
A memo issued by the ministry explained that the move is in alignment with the president’s vision of zero tolerance for corruption and ensuring value for money in all public-private partnerships.
The ministry in the memo said the minister is seeking a “legal opinion on the terms, compliance, and viability of the contracts related to the commercialisation of the e-Government Infrastructure Contract, awarded to Messrs. Lebara Ghana Ltd. and Smart Infraco Ghana Ltd.”
He has also requested a legal review for the contract for the design, development, and implementation of a common platform for traffic monitoring, revenue assurance, mobile money monitoring, and fraud management, executed by Messrs. Kelni GVG Ltd.
