A five-month-old infant girl has been fatally assaulted in Bawku after assailants seized her from her mother and violently slammed her to the ground, resulting in instantaneous death.
According to available information, the mother, a trader, was stalked and brutally beaten by the attackers.
They then forcibly removed her baby before smashing the infant on the ground, causing fatal injuries.
The death toll has now increased to 55 since the Bawku conflict resumed in October 2024.
