Plan Ghana International has expressed interest in partnering with the Ministry of Education to launch an initiative aimed at enhancing youth employment prospects.
A delegation from Plan Ghana International, led by Country Director Constant Tchona, met with the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrissu, to explore potential areas of collaboration focused on addressing youth unemployment.
The delegation presented a proposal for establishing a “Hub of Excellence” designed to provide specialized training in automotive repair and maintenance.
The primary objective of the “Hub of Excellence” initiative is to promote youth employment by equipping young people with the technical skills required to succeed in the automotive industry.
Additionally, it aims to enhance the capacity of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) teachers by providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare students for the demands of the job market, ensuring they meet industry standards.
The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrissu, expressed strong support for the initiative, stating that the collaboration aligns with the Ministry’s vision to equip youth with practical, employable skills that drive economic growth and reduce unemployment.
Through this partnership, the Ministry aims to empower the next generation of skilled professionals while contributing to the growth of the automotive sector in Ghana.
