Yaw Owusu Obimpeh, former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, won the Ashanti Regional Council of State election.
He won with 49 votes in the election held today, Monday, February 17, 2025.
The poll was rerun today due to the violence that marred the first election held a few days earlier.
His closest competitor, Nkansah Boadu Nana Ayeboafo, received 35 votes, while Daniel Anarfi Yamoah received only one vote.No other candidates received any votes.
A total of 86 people were expected to vote, but only 85 did.
No rejected votes were registered once the counting and sorting were completed.By
