Private legal practitioner, Henry Nana Boakye, commonly known as Nana B has filed a lawsuit against the government of Ghana, challenging what he described as the unlawful termination of appointments for individuals employed both before and after December 7, 2025.
The lawyer, who is also the National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), said the decision to file this lawsuit is to challenge the unconstitutionality of the action.
He said the President, John Dramani Mahama, through the Chief of Staff, does not have the constitutional authority to direct heads of government institutions to revoke appointments and recruitments made within the public services of Ghana.
However, following the directive issued on February 10, 2025, we have seen institutions acting in compliance, leading to widespread dismissals, he said in a Facebook post.
