Mark Ewusi Arkoh, Convener of Election Watch Ghana, has urged those attempting to protect former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to stop and allow him to carry his cross.
He asserted that the former minister served his country, and it has emerged that some incidents of corruption and corruption-related activities occurred, and therefore he has to face the law.
Mark Ewusi Arkoh stated that Ken Ofori-Atta is not above the law, and thus he should face the full rigours of the law without any special treatment.
He noted that Ghanaians voted massively for President John Dramani Mahama to return to deal decisively with corruption, and any failure in doing so will come with political consequences.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he stated, “Ofori-Atta served his country, and it has come to light that some activities did not go as planned. He has been cited for several breaches, including the SML deal, the National Cathedral Project, and others that resulted in financial losses to the state.
Those who are attempting to shield him from any lawful prosecution should stay away.We urge all those attempting to protect or shield him to stop immediately. The reason we voted for President John Dramani Mahama was to pursue these corrupt activities and recover all looted funds. So, stay off the agenda to protect the former minister from prosecution.”
