The National Identification Authority (NIA) has disclosed that it has received 700,000 blank Ghana Card stocks on Monday, February 17, 2025, following weeks of negotiations led by Acting Executive Secretary Wisdom Kwaku Deku and its technical partners.
The NHIA, in a statement, disclosed that the newly received cards will be used to process pending applications, including first-time issuances, card replacements, and personal information updates that have been delayed since 2023.
According to the statement, the Acting Executive Secretary has set up a technical team to oversee operations and ensure the timely issuance of cards at district offices.
The NIA assured the public that they will be notified once card issuance begins at district offices nationwide.
