President John Dramani Mahama has extended gratitude to organised labour over what he has described as a ”fruitful wage negotiation”.
The President assured organised labour of his commitment to work closely with them in ensuring that the economy is resuscitated.
Minister of Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu, in a statement, said that the president also remains committed to prudent management of public finances with an emphasis on monetary sacrifice on the part of the government.
President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday, February 20, 2025, joined the National Tripartite Committee meeting at the Ministry of Labour, Jobs, and Employment.
In his brief remarks, the president urged the labour unions to consider the dire state of the economy as they proceed with the wage negotiations.The president promised them that if the economy bounced back, he would ensure higher remuneration for workers in the coming year.
The committee has agreed on a 10% increase in the base pay for 2025.
