In different local languages, including Twi, the nominee stated categorically, President Mahama,’Wo Twamu enn3, Wo Twamu Okyena, to wit, President Mahama ‘’will not cancel free SHS today or tomorrow’’
Dr. Apaak, who is also the incumbent MP for Builsa South, told Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, that the interest of the Mahama administration is to ensure that the challenges confronting the policy are addressed.
The former lecturer at the University of Ghana stated, “I am assuring you (Ghanaians) that, as President Mahama has promised, the free SHS policy will not be cancelled.” The president has consistently stated that the policy is here to stay. We have all agreed that the policy is good, but it faces challenges, and we must all work together to overcome these challenges in order to make the policy better and more beneficial than it is currently. Do not be concerned; the free SHS is here to stay and will not be cancelled”.
