The 45-year-old man who allegedly set fire to his lover, Betty Herman’s, home in Axim, Western Region, after she requested a breakup has been arrested.
Joseph Richard on February 14, 2025, allegedly set the lover’s house on fire after the lady requested a break-up.
The tragic incident led to the death of 16-year-old Joseph Ben and 3-year-old Richlove Asiedu, children of Betty Herman.
The children died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where they were receiving treatment.
The suspect fled after allegedly committing the crime, but he was later apprehended.
Nana informed Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5fm that the suspect had been apprehended in Ningo-Prampram, Greater Accra, where he was hiding.
It also emerged that the suspect was already married and had children with the wife, who is a resident at Ningo-Prampram, where he (Richard) went into hiding.
