Member of Parliament for Walewale Constituency, Hon. Kabiru Tiah Mahama, has emphasised the significance of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in development financing, particularly in infrastructure debt financing in Ghana.

According to him, PPPs can be a game-changer in various sectors, including transportation, housing, and education.

In the education sector, he said, PPPs can help address the infrastructure deficit, such as the construction of hostels.

The honourable member questions the economic sense of relying on limited funding from sources like the GETFund for such projects. Instead, PPPs can provide a more sustainable and efficient solution.

To him, Ghana’s education system has undergone significant reforms over the years, with a focus on increasing access and improving quality.

The country has made progress in expanding education infrastructure, but more needs to be done to address the existing gaps. PPPs can play a crucial role in this regard by leveraging private sector expertise and financing to deliver quality education infrastructure.
