Deputy Minister-Designate for Energy and Green Transition, Richard Gyan-Mensah, has opined that it would be important to deploy technological innovation in improving the operational efficiency and revenue collection of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
Appearing before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Gyan-Mensah underscored the need for the adoption of advanced technology in ECG’s core operations.
He mentioned billing, revenue collection, and metering systems as some of the areas that ought to be considered.
“I strongly support the view that technology should be employed to at least minimize human interferences in our processes.
“I believe that once this is done, some of the challenges confronting ECG can be resolved,” he added.
