President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that although the state of Ghana was not good, he was prepared to fix the challenges confronting the country.
In his State of the Nation Address delivered on February 27, 2025, the President posited that Ghana’s economy is in distress.
He described the current situation as an “unprecedented crisis.”.
“The state of our nation is not good. Our economy is in hardship, and our people are suffering an unprecedented crisis,” Mahama stated.
“My approach is to accept challenges and work to address them. I did not come here to lament the state of our country,” he added.
“I will confront the economic crisis head-on and reset our country on the path of growth and prosperity,” he declared.
“It’s not my style to lament and shift blame when confronted with challenges.“
He also pledged to fix the ongoing power crisis, saying, “Mr. Speaker, I fixed dumsor. From January 2016 till I handed over power, there was no power rationing.”
He said, “It’s been nearly a decade since I said goodbye to this Parliament, but God Almighty and the unpredictability of life have summoned me here again,” he said.
