President John Dramani Mahama has disclosed that he has instructed the appropriate agency responsible for investigating corruption and other financial misappropriation activities to declare all individuals involved in these acts wanted if they have left the country.
Commenting specifically on the National Service Secretariat scandal, the President said all those involved must be prosecuted.
Speaking during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) in his second term on Thursday, February 27, in Parliament, he stated that he had directed security agencies to declare them wanted.
“Such brazen stealing of state resources should not go unpunished,” he said while assuring Ghanaians that all those involved would face the full rigours of the law.
He further pledged to fight corruption, making it unattractive by strengthening institutions to prevent financial mismanagement.
He stressed that his government would not tolerate corruption, promising strict enforcement of laws to protect public resources.
