The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the death of a Level 400 Biomedical Science student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The body of the student, identified as Joana Deladem Yabani, was discovered lying near the KNUST Disability and Rehabilitation Centre and was promptly sent to the University Health Services, where she was pronounced dead.
The police announced that one suspect has been apprehended in connection with the incident.
A preliminary police investigation revealed that the student was pronounced dead today, February 27, 2025, by the KNUST Hospital.
The police stated that the body was examined at the scene before being transported to the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
According to the police, examination of the body revealed signs of violence.
The suspect, identified as Daniel Tuffour, was arrested following a crime scene investigation.
A statement issued by the police said the suspect is currently assisting them with the ongoing investigation.
