A violent attack at dawn on Friday, February 28, 2025, in Nanik in the Bunkprugu/Nakpanduri district of the North East Region has led to the death of three persons.
The bodies of the three individuals were found burnt beyond recognition.
The three deceased included a 27-year-old teacher, Nashiru Maijida, a native of Walewale in the West Mamprusi Municipality.
Details emerging indicate that the teacher was said to have been posted two years ago to the Nanik village.
The charred bodies have been conveyed and deposited at Binde Hospital, awaiting autopsy. It is reported that the Nanik community was attacked at dawn by members of a rival faction in Bimbagu.
About 50 houses have been burnt, and several other properties have been destroyed.
