The Ministry of Health has refuted claims made by former Finance Minister Dr. Amin Adam that the previous government completed three Agenda 111 hospitals and also secured $1.3 billion for the completion of the hospitals.
Dr. Amin Adam, Karaga MP during the ‘True State of the Nation Address,’ alleged that the NPP government completed three of the hospitals and secured funding of $1.3 billion for the completion of the hospitals.
But the Health Ministry in the statement asked Ghanaians to ignore the claims because they are false.
It revealed that the previous government spent $400 million on the 111 district hospitals committed to construction; none is currently operational. The estimated cost to complete now stands at $1.589 billion.
The statement added that although former President Akufo-Addo commissioned Trede, Kokoben, and Ahanta Hospitals, the projects are still under construction with an overall completion of 95%.
