Ablekuma West constituency Member of Parliament Rev. Kwaku Addo has stated that the victory of the party in the elections, particularly the parliamentary race, was the trust the residents had in him.
He posited that the residents were disappointed in the leadership of the former MP Madam Ursula Owusu.
The man of God indicated that the former MP who had the opportunity to be appointed as a minister failed to deliver on the promises to the constituents.
Rev. Kwaku Addo, speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, said, ”Residents had expected the former MP to use her influence, especially as a minister, but they believed he failed. I proposed solutions, which is why they voted massively for me, and I believe that, aside from the fact that God delivered for me physically, the people were tired and disappointed in the former MP”.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong that he will fulfil his social contract with the constituents because they have placed their trust in him, and disappointing them would be a grave sin.
One thing he added that helped them was personality contrast, and people saw me as a responsible and decent politician, so they voted for him.
According to him, he promised his constituents honest leadership, which he will deliver.
Rev. Kwaku Addo stated that he currently dedicates Mondays to interacting with his constituents.
”God was a major factor in my victory. When I challenged the former MP in 2020, I closed the gap and defeated her in 2024. Following the 2020 elections, we received indications that if we do our homework, we will win. As a result, we gained more visibility. Some people were uncomfortable with me being a pastor, so I had to take the position of convincing the constituents that being a pastor is as natural as being a doctor or a lawyer and an MP.”
