The Executive Director of Peace Watch Ghana has advised appointees of President John Dramani Mahama to distinguish themselves in a manner that will ensure that the rest agenda promised by the president is achieved.
She warned that just as some appointees of former President Akufo-Addo were called out for underperforming, those working under Mr. Mahama must work in the national interest and not their selfish interest.
Madam Nyonkopa Daniels stated that greedy, selfish, and corrupt appointees would be exposed because their actions would harm the President’s reputation.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, she indicated that President Mahama promised Ghanaians better leadership, and all appointees must support him in delivering on his promises to the people.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong that ‘’we are advising the appointees of President Mahama to behave and support him in succeeding. If they fail to deliver, we will call them out. The most important thing to note is that Ghana comes before anything else. I am a strong member of the NDC, but if my party fails to deliver on its campaign promises, I will call them out. We are sick and tired of the back and forth by politicians. We are hopeful that Mahama will not fail, but when things don’t go as expected, we will talk about it. Should Ghana fail, every Ghanaian will suffer”.
On the issue of the energy crisis, he slammed communicators of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for blaming the president, insisting that if the previous administration had taken steps in addressing these challenges, we would not be going through this. She was, however, quick to add that the ruling government remains committed to addressing these challenges.
