President John Dramani Mahama has told the immediate past Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, that his impact on security will not be forgotten.
He commended Dr. Dampare, who was relieved of his post on Thursday, March 13, 2025. He (Dampare) made significant contributions to law enforcement and national security in Ghana.
He made the remarks at the swearing-in ceremony of the new IGP, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, today, Friday, March 14, 2025.
“Let me take this opportunity to also extend my deepest gratitude to the outgoing IGP. He has served our nation with dedication and commitment, and his contribution to law enforcement and national security will not be forgotten,” President Mahama stated.
President Mahama also extended his best wishes to Dr. Dampare for his future endeavours, recognising the impact of his leadership on the police service.
“We thank him for his service, and we wish him well in his future endeavours,” he added.
