Two people have been shot dead in Atuba, a suburb of the Binduri District in the Upper East Region.
The two were reportedly shot in connection with the ongoing Bawku conflict.
The shooting incident occurred on Monday, March 17, 2025.
Details emerging indicate that gunmen on motorbikes opened fire on traders at a busy marketplace, killing the victims instantly. One of the deceased persons has been identified as Mohammed, a veterinary officer.
The second person is said to be a local pastor.
The deaths of the two persons have increased the death toll to 76 since the conflict was renewed in October 2024.
