President John Dramani Mahama has announced that his X account, which was compromised, has been restored.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account (@JDMahama) was compromised on March 16, 2025.
The account was hacked and used to promote a cryptocurrency scam, Solana Africa.
The post falsely claimed that Ghana’s President was solidly behind Solana Africa. But it emerged later that the account had been hacked.
The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) issued a brief statement informing Ghanaians that it was collaborating closely with X and other relevant stakeholders to address the issue and prevent future occurrences.
President John Dramani Mahama has since confirmed that the account has been restored.
He wrote, He wrote, “Thank you for your inquiries and offers to assist. My team, working with X support, has successfully restored my account.”
