The Director of the Centre for Public Opinion and Awareness (CenPOA), Michael Donyina Mensah, has described the 2025 budget statement presented on March 11, 2025, as “very innovative”.
The policy analyst said the budget is very innovative because it highlights some key measures and policies that can restore confidence in the Ghanaian economy.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said considering the challenges we were confronted with, the Ghanaian public were looking forward to measures that would provide them with improved livelihoods.
Donyina Mensah also described the budget as assuring and one that inspires hope.
“The 2025 budget is very innovative. It is very innovative in the sense that the government has found new ways aimed at improving the troubling economy. Ghanaians expected ways through which they could restore economic stability.
The budget is also assuring and inspires considerable hope, potentially transforming the economy as anticipated.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong that another notable aspect of the budget is its popularity among the majority of Ghanaians, largely due to the scrapping of some nusiance taxes as promised by the government.
“The majority of Ghanaians perceive the budget as refreshing, primarily because of the government’s decision to scrap some nuisance taxes. While eliminating these taxes is a step in the right direction, more needs to be done. Ensuring tax compliance is essential. Overall, I can confidently assert that this budget is one of the best we have seen in a while.”
