Heavily armed men, suspected to be operatives from the National Security Secretariat, reportedly raided the private residence of former Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor Dr Ernest Addison.
The incident is said to have occurred around 5 a.m. at Roman Ridge on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
The former governor was at home when the armed officials stormed his home.
Details emerging indicate that about 15 armed men arrived in three separate vehicles and, wielding rifles, forcefully entered the premises.
Upon arrival, the operatives swiftly disabled the CCTV system before demanding that Dr Addison lead them to supposed “vaults” hidden within the house.
Dr Addison, however, denied having vaults or caches of money on his property.
The armed officers went ahead to ransack the residence.
They subsequently called in National Security drivers to remove four of Dr Addison’s vehicles, leaving only two behind after their search yielded no results.
Before leaving, they also confiscated the CCTV monitor and control unit.
Meanwhile, the minority leader has visited the former governor and condemned the raid.
