Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has refuted allegations of approving a $1.7 million single-source procurement contract.
The minister says he has not approved any single-source contact since he took over as minister.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, March 22, 2025, Dr Forson described the claims as “baseless and misleading”.
He had therefore urged the public to disregard them.
He further clarified that since assuming office, he has not approved any procurements, emphasising his commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible economic management.
“My attention has been drawn to yet another baseless and misleading claim circulating about an alleged $1.7 million single-source procurement contract approved by me.
“This claim is completely false and should be disregarded. Let me state clearly and categorically: I have not approved any procurements since I took office as minister. My focus remains on ensuring transparency, accountability, and responsible economic management in the best interest of Ghana,” he wrote.
