It has emerged that the security operatives who searched the residence of former governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr Ernest Addison, carried out the search following a search warrant issued by an Accra High Court, General Jurisdiction.
Presiding judge Justice Ali Baba Abature issued the warrant for the arrest and search of the former governor’s residence following an ex parte motion filed by applicant Sulemana Sulley Junior, a superintendent of the Ghana Police Service.
The application was filed on March 12, 2025, and upon hearing the submissions of Dominic Bakoma, counsel for and on behalf of the applicant, the court ordered that the residence of Dr Addison be searched by the appropriate security agencies.
The court documents are currently circulating on social media after the minority leader accused security operatives who conducted the search of stealing money and other valuables from the residence of Dr Addison.
The court also ordered that any item of evidential value to the investigation being conducted, if found on or at the residence, should be searched, retrieved and preserved by the agencies in the investigation.
The court further ordered that any person or persons found at the premises who may be engaged in any form of illegal activity be arrested and assist with investigations.
