Speaker Bagbin swears in maiden committee on security and intelligence

Speaker of Parliament the Rt. Hon. Speaker, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has sworn in the first-ever Committee on Security and Intelligence.

The Speaker swore in the committee in accordance with Order 258 (4) of the new Standing Orders of Parliament, which took effect in January 2024.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Speaker congratulated and cautioned the members to be diligent and circumspect in their work, given the sensitive and critical nature of security issues, not only for Parliament but also for Ghana as a whole.

The 17-member committee will be chaired by Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings while Hon. Oscar Ofori-Larbi will be the vice chair.
