President John Dramani Mahama has expressed optimism that the newly sworn-in administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Michael Harry Yamson, will deliver on his mandate.
He praised his extensive experience in institutional reform and financial management.
The president posited that the administrator’s expertise will be crucial in reinforcing the operations of the DACF.
According to him, this will position the DACF as a central element of Ghana’s decentralisation agenda.
He made the remarks while speaking at a ceremony to swear in the new administrator on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
“I’m confident that you will bring your extensive experience in institutional reform and financial management to strengthen the DACF’s operation and position the fund as a key pillar of Ghana’s decentralisation agenda,” President Mahama said.
“Beyond the need for competent administration of the fund, my government fully recognises that timely, efficient, and adequate disbursement of resources is equally critical to the success of local governance,” he added.
The District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) is a fund established by the Government of Ghana to support the work of local district assemblies in the provision of public goods and services. The DACF provides financial resources to district assemblies to help them in the implementation of their development plans.
