Education Minister inaugurates high-powered committee to oversee the reversal of the double-track system

Minister of Education Haruna Iddrisu has inaugurated a high-powered committee to oversee the reversal of the double-track system in Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHSTS) to a single-track system.

The 11-member committee is being chaired by Prof. Peter Grant of the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

The mandate includes reviewing the 2024/2025 academic calendar, realigning the WASCCE calendar with other West African countries, and providing a roadmap for reversing the SHS/SHSTS double-track system to a single-track system.

Present at the short ceremony were Dr Clement Apaak, DepUTY Minister for Education; Prof Ernest Kofi Davis , DG GES; Professor George K.T. Oduro, Technical Advisor to the Minister; the Chief Director of MoE; and Management/Directors of GES and MoE , among others.
