President John Dramani Mahama has stated that there is no animosity between his administration and the judiciary.
Interacting with members of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, the president stated that the assertion of tension between his government and the judiciary does not exist.
He assured that his administration values collaboration with the judiciary to strengthen governance.
“Government is open to working with you, particularly on our side of the political divide. There’s this perception that we have a problem with the legal fraternity and things like that,” Mahama stated.
Using former Attorney General and Minister of Justice and now the legal advisor to him, Marrietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, he said his government has enormous respect for the judiciary.
“We’re not people who have any such animosity towards the judiciary and the legal fraternity. So our doors are open.”
