President John Dramani Mahama has announced that the government will soon transform the Asutsuare Training Camp into a first-class military training facility to enhance Ghana’s security preparedness.
President Mahama said his administration remains committed to strengthening the country’s military infrastructure.
He said this at a brief ceremony on Friday, March 28, 2025, where the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Major General William Agyapong, and other security chiefs paid a courtesy call on him.
The president promised that budgetary allocations for the military would be increased to facilitate the acquisition of advanced platforms and assets for improved operations.
“Your budgetary allocation will increase to enable you to secure new and additional platforms and assets to enhance your operations. I also ask you to explore innovative financing means to improve infrastructure and training, especially with respect to accommodation for your troops.
“I will be by your side every step of the way. Already, we are planning to upgrade the Asutuare Training Camp into a first-class training facility,” President Mahama noted.
