The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has refuted claims that the Presidency has ordered the National Intelligence Bureau to conduct an investigation into former President Nana Akufo-Addo.
He was responding to an online publication by Asaase Radio that the President John Mahama had allegedly instructed the NIB to investigate Akufo-Addo’s official travels during his tenure.
The news portal claimed in its publication that government officials explained that the probe was part of broader efforts to ensure accountability in the management of state resources.
But in a post on Friday, March 28, 2025, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu described these claims as false and admonished the public to disregard them.
He stated categorically that the presidency has not directed the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to investigate the former president’s travels.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the Presidency has not given any order to the NIB to look into President Akufo-Addo’s travels,” he stated.
