Madam Janet Nablah, the National Chairman of the People’s National Party (PNP), has dared President John Dramani Mahama to put her in charge in the fight against illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey; in a month, she will end the canker which has bedeviled the country and destroyed our water bodies and forest reserves.
The female politician declared that illegal miners are murderers and deserve to be killed for their illegal criminal activities causing havoc to Ghanaians.
She has therefore supported the shoot-to-kill policy, stating categorically that the only solution to ending the galamsey menace is to start killing the illegal miners since that will serve as a deterrent.
On Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s Frontline, she declared, “I dare President John Dramani Mahama to put me in charge of the fight against galamsey.” Illegal miners are fearless and engaging in galamsey in unprecedented ways. If President Mahama is truly committed to combating galamsey, she should put me in charge, and if there is even one person involved in galamsey within one month, he should give my name to a dog.
If he is committed to the fight, I am availing myself. Don’t pay me. Please put me in charge of galamsey and let all the security agencies be in my domain. The only solution to end galamsey is shoot to kill. The illegal miners are murderers and are trying to murder Ghanaians. Illegal mining is a war between us and galamseyers. We have to use the military to deal with them. If we kill ten galamseyers in a day, the rest of them will abandon the sites.”
She told host Kwabena Agyapong that ‘’God himself will rejoice at the death of an illegal miner. An illegal miner will plant a tree and destroy a forest reserve preserved for the next generation. How can you fight them without doing what is necessary? The military can do their work. We can use drones to monitor their activities. If we kill about ten of them, the rest will stop. My policy is to shoot and kill all of them”.
Madam Janet Nablah added that when these illegal miners are killed, their bodies should be seized and the state should organise a mass burial ceremony to bury their mortal remains.
