The Military Police and the Ashanti Regional Police CID are currently investigating an alleged assault of civilians by some soldiers.
The Ghana Armed Forces, in a statement signed by Director General of Public Relations Brigadier General E. Agrrey-Quarshie, disclosed that its attention has been drawn to an incident which occurred on March 28, 2025.
Some soldiers are alleged to have assaulted some civilians over a missing phone which belonged to another civilian.
The seven military personnel were comprised of three officers and four soldiers who allegedly assaulted the civilians.
The civilians were said to have sustained varied degrees of injuries.
The officers have since been placed under closed arrest while an investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, the GAF has assured the public that anyone found culpable would be punished in accordance with the law.
