The World Bank has denied claims of suspending funded projects in Ghana.
A statement issued by the World Bank said no project sponsored by the institution has been suspended.
This was in response to some social media stories about two suspended projects following the dismissal of some appointees.
It was circulated on social media that two major World Bank-funded initiatives—the $200 million Tree Crops Diversification Project and the $200 million Ghana Digital Acceleration Project (GDAP)—had been suspended due to the recent dismissal of key officials by the new government.
But the statement issued by the World Bank on Thursday stated: “No projects in the World Bank-financed portfolio in Ghana are currently suspended.”
