The Omanhene of Ajumako Traditional Obrempong Nyanful Krampah X1 has declared war on teenage pregnancy and illicit drug use in Gomoa and admonished chiefs in the traditional area to join the initiative.
Speaking at the maiden State Council meeting at Gomoa Ajuamako, he tasked all the chiefs, police and the Security Council in every district and municipality to arrest individuals who deal in the illicit drug activities in the area.
The traditional ruler specifically asked the chiefs to roll out campaigns to raise awareness about teenage pregnancy and encourage the youth in the area to prioritise their education so they can become responsible adults.
‘’As traditional rulers, we have a responsibility to deal with these challenges. I encourage you to initiate policies and campaigns that will help in eradicating teenage pregnancy and illicit drug use. As chiefs, we have to move through every community and town in our traditional area and encourage our youth to focus on their education so we can have more doctors, engineers, journalists, MPs and other professionals in Gomoa.’’
