Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunnor has indicated that fighting for an appointment is the least of her worries at the moment.
She was responding to suggestions by some persons for President John Dramani Mahama to give her a ministerial appointment.
In her response, the communications professional said Kasoa will soon become a hub for business.
She pledged to use her experience and skill set to rebrand Kasoa as a community that is vibrant and a hub of trade and industry.
The MP noted what is more important is for her and other like-minded people to give Kasoa a positive narrative.
In an interview on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, she said whenever Kasoa is mentioned, it is associated with criminality and other illicit activities, even in cases when the incidents did not happen in the area.
To this end, she has promised to work with other stakeholders in transforming the area and giving it a positive outlook.
”I don’t think there is the need for us to rush for an appointment. At the right time, President Mahama, in his own right time, will give Naa Koryoo and the constituency what he feels is appropriate. What is more important is for us to focus on working and developing Kasoa and transforming it. We need to dedicate ourselves to changing the narrative about Kasoa. That is more important. If you are determined to work, wherever you are, you will certainly do your best. Fighting for an appointment now is the least on my table. I want to transform Kasoa and give it a good name.’’
‘’We will rebrand Kasoa and give it a better narrative. We will make Kasoa a better place comfortable for everybody to live. Kasoa is a land of opportunities and a land of hope. We would have to tap into the opportunities and transform the area. The doors of Kasoa are widely opened for any kind of business,” she added.
