The government is set to launch the Home Ownership Scheme, specifically designed for personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces.
President John Dramani Mahama disclosed this today, Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Ghana Military Academy Graduation, Regular Career Course 63, held at the Ghana Military Academy in Accra.
He explained that the initiative forms part of efforts to support military officers and service members in acquiring their own homes.
President Mahama was optimistic the initiative will improve the welfare and long-term security of the GAF.
“We’ll address the most pressing concerns of your troops, starting with the need for affordable housing. We’ll focus on constructing new housing units in the barracks while refurbishing dilapidated and abandoned military accommodations across the nation.
“We believe that no service personnel should have to endure substandard living conditions. In addition to improved accommodation in our barracks, we’ll establish the Armed Forces Home Ownership Scheme to provide officers and soldiers with the opportunity to own their own private homes,” he stated.
