Deputy Education Minister Dr Clement Apaak has underscored the need for collaboration in building an equitable, resilient education system for Ghana.
Dr. Apaak made the call while speaking on behalf of the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, at the University of Education – Wenniba (UEW) public lecture series today, Friday, 11th April, 2025.
The Builsa South MP opined that teachers must be mentors and role models.
The lecture, which brought together key figures in education, among others, was under the theme “Empowering Minds, Shaping Futures for 21st-Century Education”.
The Deputy in his remarks stated, “Let us together ensure that our teachers are not just transmitters of information but facilitators of learning, mentors, and role models.
“As we gather here today to deliberate and exchange ideas, I urge all of us to consider how we can collaboratively build education that is resilient and responsive to the needs of the 21st century.
“To the students here today, you are the future of this nation. Embrace learning, not just as an end but as a lifelong pursuit; your curiosity, passion, and sense of purpose must shape the future of Ghana and beyond.”
Antigraft crusader and renowned Pan-Africanist, Prof. P.L.O. Lumumba, also spoke on 21st Century Education at the University of Education (UEW) Public Lecture Series.
Also in attendance were academics, policymakers, and students to contribute to the conversation on shaping a progressive educational future.
