Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister for Communications, Digital Innovation and Technologies, Sam Nartey George, expressed optimism that the initiative will shape Ghana’s digital future.

“We are at a defining moment in Ghana’s digital journey. A moment that is not only necessary but urgent. This is all an action to transform our economy, create sustainable jobs, and invest boldly in our people.

“We must harness science, innovation and technology, not as nice words but as tools for inclusive growth, and the one million coders programme is designed to do just that,” he stated.

He added that the programme was not just about coding but represents a broader vision to reset the nation’s economic trajectory.

“This is a call to action to transform our economy, create sustainable jobs, and invest boldly in our people,” George remarked, urging stakeholders to support the initiative.

The government has partnered with key stakeholders, including MTN Ghana, to ensure the success of the initiative.
