President John Dramani Mahama nominated Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in assemblies that are without persons occupying the positions.
In the latest nominations, the president nominated the National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate for Tema Central, Ebi Bright, as the Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive in the Greater Accra Region.
Residents in the area recently staged a protest in opposition to her nomination, but the president has maintained her.
The President has also nominated Ludwig Totimeh, who has been appointed as the Municipal Chief Executive for Tema West.
The nominations are in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) as amended by the Local Governance (Amendment) Act, 2017.
Michael Kpakpo Allotey and Alfred Gaisie have been nominated for the Accra Metropolitan and Korle Klottey, respectively.
The nominations are subject to approval by the respective Assemblies.
