World Bank to support Ghana to create 500,000 jobs through the Growth and Jobs Strategy initiative

The World Bank has agreed to support Ghana in developing and implementing a Growth and Jobs Strategy, Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has revealed.

The minister explained that the initiative will create over 500,000 jobs for young people in the country.

Dr Ato Forson disclosed this in a Facebook post after a meeting with the World Bank MD for Operations at the Bank’s Headquarters in Washington, DC.

He stated that this initiative is also a major boost for Ghana as it seeks to build an inclusive economy that delivers opportunities for the youth of the country.

The post read ‘’ Just had a productive meeting with Anna Bjerde, the World Bank MD for Operations, at the Bank’s HQ in Washington, D.C.

Pleased to share that the World Bank has agreed to support Ghana in the development and implementation of a Growth and Jobs Strategy.

This is a bold initiative aimed at creating jobs for the over 500,000 young people who enter our job market each year.

This is a major boost for our efforts to build an inclusive economy that delivers real opportunities for the youth of Ghana.’’
